Campaign Planning Template

Campaign Planning Template

For each fundraising campaign (e.g. an annual appeal, a crowdfunding campaign, Giving Tuesday, etc.), a comprehensive project template is used (could be in a Projects database as mentioned in Documentation, but with fundraising-specific sections):

  • Campaign Goal: e.g. amount to raise or number of donors, plus any secondary goals (like acquiring X new donors).
  • Audience/Segment: Who you’re targeting (existing donors, new prospects, specific demographics).
  • Message & Offer: Key theme or story of the campaign (perhaps developed with a mini PRFAQ internally to clarify the narrative).
  • Channels: Which channels will be used (email, social media, events, direct mail, etc.) – could be broken down with owners for each.
  • Timeline: Important dates (launch date, any events, intermediate milestones, end date).
  • Task List: Detailed tasks, possibly in a related sub-table (content creation, design, mailing, thank-you process, etc.), each assigned and dated.
  • Budget: if applicable, costs of the campaign.
  • Risk Plan: E.g. “What if we’re 50% to goal at midpoint? -> additional email blast” or contingency ideas.
  • Metrics Tracking: A linked view or table to update progress (dollars raised, donor count, etc., updated daily or weekly during campaign).

After the campaign, fill out a Results & Retro section to capture how it went. Over time, those retros feed back into better plans.
